Disfrutar in Barcelona, has topped a list of the world’s best up-and-coming restaurants.

It won the ‘Miele One To Watch’ Award 2017, by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Disfrutar (which means “to enjoy”) is a collaboration between chefs Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch, who were all former chefs at No.1 restaurant El Bulli. The restaurant earnt its first Michelin star in 2016.

William Drew, Group Editor of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, said: “Disfrutar showcases the individual talents of these three chefs and broadens their influence on Spain’s culinary scene. Their commitment to pushing the creative boundaries of gastronomy makes them worthy winners of the Miele One To Watch Award.”

It is the trio’s second venture, after opening Compartir (meaning “share”) in the coastal town of Cadaqués. Located in the Eixample district of Barcelona, the restaurant features a laid-back vibe and an Avant-Garde menu.
