The Chanel Fall/Winter 2017/18 Ready-to-Wear collection is truly out of this world. Looking to the skies for inspiration, designer Karl Lagerfeld said: “It’s a journey through the sky, to the heart of constellations, in the wake of the astronaut Thomas Pesquet.”
A spectacular 37-meter-high rocket took centre stage at the show, where models wore boots and headbands adorned with diamond constellations, crystals and faux pearls.
The theme continued with silver fingerless gloves, silhouettes in white, grey and silver, with flashes of colour, crystal embroidery and beaded braids. Evening dresses and chiffon blouses featured an astronaut motif, while shimmering embroidery, Saturn inspired jewellery and eclipse motifs made this collection truly interstellar.
